Aren't animals wonderful!! I can relate to your story because a similar thing happened to me.I had a box of Ferero Rocher chocolates given to me and not being a big chocolate eater they were sitting on the coffee table unopened when a friend came round. She of course loved them, opened them and ate one.Sometime after she had gone I noticed that there were in fact about four missing and was muttering that this was a little cheeky really. However ,the next day I noticed that there were more missing and presumed hubby had attacked them.Needless to say I confronted him and he vehemently denied all knowledge.
A few days later with the said chocs still disappearing regularly I was passing the half open lounge door when I heard very soft little sounds.I peered through the crack on the hinge side of the door and saw my Shih Tzu... Teasel..open the box lid, remove a choc, close the lid with her nose, unwrap it with her teeth, eat the choc and push the wrapper under the sofa!!
When I looked under the sofa there were all the wrappers from the missing chocs except the one my friend had eaten !! WHO SAYS ANIMALS ARE DUMB!!!!!

Managed to make a start on our grass between the rain last week - looks like a demented half-trained cropcircle creating alien has visited now! At least, it is shorter in most places - my poor little mower finds combine length grass hard to deal with, especially when still dampish even after a whole dry sunny day. Am really glad only have a smallish patch to deal with, yours sounds terrifyingly like hard labour

Today being Sunday we (husband & I) were doing the very same thing to our back lawn (managed to nip between the showers & do the front a few weeks ago) which slopes at 45 degrees upwards towards a woodland. Wood/stick gathering duty first whilst husband brings the mower up & he too had to cut on longest cut whilst I took the shears to try & unearth the fence between lawn & woodland (grass er meadow there will need strimmer or scythe!).

So glad Glenda is recovering. As for the wheelie thing: they are terrible trouble but essential in the midst of nowhere......don't suppose Trillian would take kindly to a fellow lodger in the shape of a horse? Anyhow it would have to know how to swim so probably isn't much of a solution & the modern carts are probably TWICE as expensive as those plastic whatnots........... You've probably been drying a wet moggy too & have the scratches to prove it???????? Take care & you're star!!
Much love from very wet Brecon

yes, I have to admit I thought you had resumed normal service, so this was a nice surprise on a grotty morning.
Glad to hear Glenda is feeling better, least said the better re car parts, glad you enjoyed the gigs but won't hold my breath re photos - you'll probably have enough for a book by the time the rain stops anyway..............but maybe inspiration there for a 'add a brad' type ditty on the drought?

yea Paula, reality is a bit different ! Did have a good laugh, but then remembered that we still have -we think- a field mouse somewhere that Bibble brought in a few weeks ago and promptly lost interest in - like you have turned place upside down with no trace of said animal, and no smell of deceased mouse either.........yet............but have to assume it is still here, there is after all plenty of cat food for it to eat! The previous reluctantly visiting mouse was caught dining on Whiskas and unceremoniously turfed out in mid meal, so there is hope yet.

I hope you're feeling better by today. I don't think you need the TV by the sounds of things - cat & mouse provide enough entertainment! It sounds highly amusing listening to the tale - especially the way you tell it - but I'm sure reality is quite something else. I do hope you manage to establish the reality without too much of a nasty surprise.

well done Adrian - definitely worth a choccy egg! As Paula says, good to have you back, you have a flair for the language. Know what you mean about the rain - am slowly drying/thawing out after a happy bank holiday fair, when it rained steadily/heavily/drizzling all day - we were inside a tent, thank goodness!

Brilliant - I think you deserve a Chocolate Egg, or perhaps a grape would be more appropriate. It sounds as if you had a wonderful day. It's been good to read your take on things...............
I'm glad the men in white coats thought better of it & left you free to roam the countryside.

Absolutely priceless - you had me chuckling into my tea, but I now have to do it quietly as husband has had his fill of cat stories...............& no longer appreciates me sending him links via email. Glad you've not been left out by this little bundle & wonder what she'll try next. We ALMOST had a cat but in the end my husband's leather books which were already in residence had priority. Glad that the men in white coats gave you a respite.
